Meet Karla Ray, a former award-winning television news anchor with nearly two decades of on-air experience. She has a deep understanding of what it takes to communicate clearly under pressure. After spending years in front of the camera, asking tough questions, telling meaningful stories, and breaking down complex topics for broad audiences. Karla saw a growing need beyond the newsroom. Leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers were being asked to show up on camera more than ever. Yet many lacked the tools and confidence to do it well.

That realization led her to found Unprompted Strategies, a communication consultancy built on one simple idea. Which is powerful messages don’t require a teleprompter. They require clarity, confidence, and the ability to think on your feet. Unprompted Strategies helps leaders, brands, and mission-driven organizations develop authentic, compelling on-camera communication skills. That will feel natural and effective, not rehearsed or forced.

Drawing from nearly twenty years of journalism experience, Karla brings a practical, real-world approach to communication coaching. She understands what audiences notice, what earns trust, and what causes messages to fall flat. Her work focuses on helping clients speak with purpose, organize their thoughts quickly. And to deliver messages that resonate whether they are on camera, online, in a boardroom, or representing their organization publicly.
