The heart-wrenching reality of job scarcity often compels mothers to surrender their children to orphanages. This heightens the risk of trafficking and ensnaring women in a relentless cycle of poverty and oppression.

Gretchen embarked on her mission, determined to give women a voice. She also gives them a chance to showcase their remarkable abilities, skills, and trades. She envisioned creating avenues for them to generate income for their families while fostering education.

For 13 years, Gretchen has dedicated herself to uplifting women not only in the United States but also in countries like Guatemala, Nepal, Peru, Uganda, and beyond. Trades of Hope has become a conduit for women to reclaim their agency.

The culmination of Gretchen’s journey is her latest achievement — a compelling book titled “Our Voices Rising.” In this narrative, she shares her experiences as a CEO striving to alleviate poverty through fashion, transforming it into a force for good. The book serves as an inspirational guide, illustrating how one woman’s determination can spark a ripple effect, transforming the lives of countless others.
